Lauren Turner, NP
Cardiology
Board-certified nurse practitioner Lauren Turner, NP, specializes in cardiology. She genuinely cares about each patient and considers it an honor to help them achieve healthier hearts and better wellness. “Being sick can be really scary, disheartening and overwhelming,” she says. “I really enjoy seeing patients’ confidence, independence and spark return after they start to feel better.”
Lauren pursued a career in cardiology because it offers so many opportunities to help save lives. Many risk factors contributing to heart disease are preventable, she explains, and it’s deeply fulfilling to help bridge the gap between education and disease prevention.
“My favorite part about my job is giving hope back to my patients, especially those who have forgotten what it feels like,” she shares. “My goal is to place the power back into the hands of the patient to take control and improve their overall quality of life.”
Lauren earned her nurse practitioner degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to that, she worked for years as a registered nurse and gained extensive experience caring for patients in trauma, surgical, critical care and intensive care units in Ohio, California and Oregon. She values the unique, warm and accepting culture at Adventist Health Northwest Heart Center.
When not busy with patients, Lauren loves pursuing her many hobbies. She enjoys rock climbing, riding dirt bikes, camping, hiking, traveling, painting, drawing, reading, playing guitar, woodworking, watching documentaries, going to film festivals, spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants and taking her dog to the beach. She speaks English and Spanish.
