Jessica Hoover, PA-C
Cardiothoracic Surgery
Certified physician assistant Jessica Hoover, PA-C, specializes in cardiac surgery. “Our health is sacred and integral to living life to its fullest,” she says. “After working in cardiac surgery since the start of my career, I still can’t imagine anything more amazing than helping to fix a human heart.”
As a college undergraduate, Jessica traveled to Tanzania where she worked as a public health volunteer. She discovered a love for working with people and helping them live healthier lives, prompting her to pursue a career in medicine. She earned her degree with high honors from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
“I have always been fascinated by cardiac medicine, and I learned through my training that I have an affinity for the tactile nature of surgery,” she shares. “My favorite moments are seeing patients reach the end of their in-hospital recoveries and get to return to living their lives to the fullest.”
Outside of work, Jessica turns her focus and passion toward environmental conservation, including coral reef restoration. She loves recreational diving, hiking, running and soaking in nature’s beauty. She also seeks creative pursuits like wheel pottery and likes traveling around the word to explore different cultures, foods and ways of living. Most of all, she treasures time with family and friends.
