Cardiologist Hoang Nguyen, MD, loves helping people make positive changes in their lives by staying abreast of new developments in heart care. “The dynamic and ever-evolving nature of medicine captivates me, as it demands continuous learning and staying at the forefront of cutting-edge research and technologies,” he shares.
Being a doctor is important to him because he can bring hope and healing to people when they need it most. He’s excited to work in the team-oriented environment at Adventist Health Northwest Heart Center. He notes, “This collaborative spirit fosters an enriching and supportive work environment, which I believe is crucial for providing the best possible care to our patients.”
Dr. Nguyen describes his fascination with the cardiovascular system as “profound” and appreciates how his field is constantly improving through research and technology. “I am drawn to being at the forefront of groundbreaking therapies and procedures that can significantly improve patients’ lives,” he says. He also appreciates how cardiology opens the door to strong doctor-patient relationships.
Following medical school at the American University of Caribbean School of Medicine, Dr. Nguyen served his residency in internal medicine at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California. He further specialized in cardiology during his fellowship at Baylor Scott & White Health in Austin, Texas.
A Hawaii native of Vietnamese descent, Dr. Nguyen speaks English and Vietnamese. He likes to stay active because it keeps his body healthy and boosts his mood and mind. He also enjoys outdoor activities and sports, like hiking with his girlfriend and goldendoodle. As adventurous foodies, they like to seek out new foods and restaurants.
